Dr. James McGrath
Dr. McGrath grew up a stone’s throw away in New Haven, CT. Along with his athletic interests in soccer, golf, and tennis, he was drawn to dentistry. Dentistry combined his interests in math, science, and working with his hands.
After graduating from high school, Dr. McGrath attended UConn for his undergraduate degree. Then, he obtained his dental degree from UConn School of Dental Medicine before completing a year-long Advanced Education General Dentistry (AEGD) residency, also at UConn.
But his education didn’t stop there. Even after graduating, Dr. McGrath prioritized continuing education, becoming an FAGD (Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry), an honor earned by only 6% of general dentists.
As an FAGD, Dr. McGrath has specialized training in a wide variety of dental treatments. By staying on top of current dental technologies, techniques, and best practices Dr. McGrath offers dental care that’s a cut above the competition.
But above all else, Dr. McGrath loves the ability to learn more about patients, make an impact on their lives with high-quality dental care, and build real relationships that will last for the years and decades to come.

The Invisalign Treatment Process
Consultation & Exam
During your first visit, your doctor will take a look at your bite and smile to determine if Invisalign is the right option for you. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about your smile, Invisalign, or other treatment options.
Aligner Pick Up
Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take scans or impressions of your teeth to ensure your Invisalign trays fit perfectly. When your aligners arrive at our office, you’ll come and pick them up to begin your treatment.
Check-ins
Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take scans or impressions of your teeth to ensure your Every six weeks or so, you’ll come back to our office to pick up your next few sets of aligners. Every treatment plan is different, so this amount of time may vary based on your needs. These check-ins are essential to ensure your treatment is on track and that your Invisalign trays are fitting properly.

Dr. Blalock grew up on a beef cattle farm in Crossville, TN. The time he spent working on the farm taught Dr. Blalock valuable problem-solving skills and a good work ethic. After Dr. Blalock suffered a dental injury when a cow’s hoof contacted his teeth, his dentist repaired his smile and sparked a fascination for the art of dentistry. Because of that experience, Dr. Blalock realized his calling was to become a dentist. He loves that dental work gives him the ability to work creatively with his hands while interacting with patients and making a positive impact on their lives.
Dr. Blalock graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Tech University with an undergraduate degree in health science biology. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry
